Liverpool in pole to land Championship striker

Zaha has been linked with Liverpool for some timeLiverpool FC’s enquiries into the availability of Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha look to be proving successful with the Merseyside outfit looking to land the young striker in January.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is still looking to sign a replacement for the outgoing David N’Gog who joined Owen Coyle’s Bolton Wanderers during the summer and have pinpointed Zaha as a youngster with potential and a strong sell on value. Although Liverpool are currently a side coping well with their current firepower, they realise that an injury or two to any of their front line could prove problematic.

Liverpool are not actively seeking any players in the January transfer window but feel Zaha could prove as a good back up should there be any injuries and is, in reality, the one position that still requires strengthening alongside a possible centre-back acquisition.

Although Zaha is not considered an out and out striker, the service the 18 year old will receive should provide him with the platform to add more goals to his curriculum vitae and should prove a reasonable purchase under Dalglish who last January forked out £35m for Andy Carroll and £22.8m for Uruguay international Luis Suarez.

Zaha has been linked with Liverpool’s Premiership rivals Arsenal too although there appears to be little interest from the North London side at this time.
