Wigan contract rebel attracting Premier League interest

Some of England’s top clubs are considering a swoop for Wigan’s Victor Moses, after it emerged that the youngster is refusing to pen a contract extension.

The trio of clubs currently monitoring his situation are Stoke City, Sunderland and Aston Villa; three clubs seeking to ascend the ranks in the Premier League.

Stoke are reportedly looking at £4m-rated Moses as an alternative should they fail to land the signature of Blackburn star, Junior Hoilett.

Hoilett is also being tracked by Liverpool and Tottenham and Tony Pulis is setting up backup should his plans fall through.

Wigan could be offered Jermaine Pennant as part of a player-plus-cash deal as the Englishman was offered to Blackburn in the Hoilett deal.

Villa and Sunderland are looking to buff up their attacks also with the Villans hoping to provide backup on the wing that has failed to improve after the departure of Ashley Young.

Charles N’Zogbia was brought in as a replacement for Manchester United-bound Young but the Frenchman has failed to make the impact expected of him.

Stewart Downing is another player who chose to take a summer exit from Villa Park and Moses would provide ammunition to a team that sorely needs it.

The 21 year-old was heavily monitored before his move to the DW Stadium and looks to be on the move again, seemingly unimpressed with the Latics’ start to the season.
