Liverpool offering wing target route out of Russia

It appears as if Aiden McGeady may be set for a return to more familiar surroundings after sources suggested that the winger could be ready to leave Spartak Moscow.

The news comes after the Russian outfit agreed a fee to sign Everton attacker, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who is being tipped as a replacement for an immediate departure.

The Russian international spent three years at Goodison Park, making over 75 appearances for the Toffees.

However, his presence wasn’t yielding as much impact this season and the attacking midfielder was sold so that David Moyes may free up some funds of his own.

Kenny Dalglish has been linked with moves for the likes of Adam Johnson, Eden Hazard and Aaron Lennon in recent weeks, leading many to believe that the Scot is in the market for a winger.

Stewart Downing was brought into Anfield over the summer as Dalglish looked to push on for a Champions League place.

Despite the Reds’ summer spree, Liverpool still find themselves struggling to get back into the European spots and see the Irishman as ideal wing reinforcements.

Both Dirk Kuyt and Maxi Rodriguez have been associated with moves away from the Premier League outfit over recent months, and their protracted sales will free up funds and squad positions for McGeady’s arrival.

The former Celtic attacker has made 45 appearances for the Moscow side scoring five times and making 20 assists.

That last statistic could prove the most impressive, especially when taking the eight-match ban of Luis Suarez into account.

Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy will now be the main striking outlets for Dalglish and good supply could prove just as important for the side as good finishing.

The Republic of Ireland international may be open to a move back to the UK top be closer to family and an offer of £10m may give him his homecoming.
