Russia v Greece Odds as punters pile in on Russians to qualify from Group A

Saturday evening sees Russia and Greece go head to head in a game where both teams could still qualify for the knockout stages, as Sportingbet report plenty of money coming in for Dick Advocaat’s Russian side to seal qualification from Group A.

Russia are still unbeaten in the tournament so far after a win against Czech Republic and a draw with Poland last time out.

Dick Advocaat will know that a win would see his side safely through to the knockout stages, so he will be wanting a big performance from his players.

Russia could have made it to the final eight on Tuesday evening had they held on to their lead against Poland, but a equaliser from the co-hosts means it goes down to the final match.

With Alan Dzagoev, Advocaat has Euro 2012’s leading scorer at his disposal as the midfielder has scored three times in the first two matches.

Russia are now unbeaten in 15 games so are in great shape going into this encounter. It is now a big test for Advocaat’s men to deliver the goods when the pressure is well and truly on them.

As for Grecce, they will be extremely disappointed with their performance last time out against Poland where they were awful in the first half and were two goals down within ten minutes.

Fernando Santos’ men did put up a fight in the second half but could not get the all important equaliser.

Greece now must win this game if they are to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages, something that will be tough against a good Russia side.

Georgios Samaras will need to find some form in front of goal to give Santos’ side a chance of a win here. He has been relativity quite in the opening two matches and has not managed a goal as yet.

The Greeks will be no strangers to needing to upset the odds though, as they famously went on to win Euro 2004. Therefore, they will be confident of causing a surprise again this time out.

Kick-off for this all important game is 5pm on Saturday.
