Current champions Dortmund need a win as they are eleven points adrift of Munich, who know that another three points here would put them in a strong position.

The Bavarians will be looking to put down a marker for the Bundesliga title with victory, however the Allianz Arena hold no fears for Jurgen Klopp’s side, having won there on their last visit and inflicting Bayern’s only home defeat on their way to the title last season.

In fact, Dortmund have won their last four derbies, and should have Mario Goetze,  Ilkay Guendogan & Mats Hummels back in the squad for the trip as they make to make up ground on the Bundesliga leaders.

Jupp Heynckes is sure to field an attacking line up for Bayern, with Mario Gomez back in the starting line up following his appearance in the victory over Freiburg last week, while Mario Mandzukic, Franck Ribery and Toni Kroos should provide attacking flair.

Arjen Robben will once again miss out, in a game which is sure to be a classic.

Saturday afternoon sees five matches take place and Bayer Leverkusen, who sit in second place, will be looking to make it four wins from four when they take on a Nurnberg side that are unbeaten in their last three Bundesliga matches.

Schalke 04 and Borussia Monchengladbach also go head to head in a battle between fourth and ninth. Schalke have not won in three and Monchengladbach will go into this with some confidence after their 2-0 win over Wolfsburg in midweek.

Bottom of the table Augsburg are then at home to Freiburg in a game where the hosts have to come out on top, whilst Mainz and Hannover also lock horns.

Stuttgart will be looking to move up the table when head to struggling Greuther Furth on Saturday afternoon..

Moving onto Sunday, Hoffenheim take on Werder Bremen in a battle between two sides having disappointing seasons right now. Hoffenheim sit in 16th, whereas Bremen have slipped down to twelfth after two games without a win.

The final encounter of the weekend sees Wolfsburg in action at home to Hamburger. The two sides need the points for different reasons and Wolfsburg know they could end up in the drop zone come the final whistle on Sunday.
