Arsenal or Tottenham in talks with Germany international

Sources across the internet have claimed that either Arsenal or Tottenham are in possible talks with Germany international and current FC Cologne forward Lukas Podolski.

It is believed the player will have talks with a “North London club” this week despite the player recently suggesting that he was not upset about losing the captain armband for the new season. Podolski only rejoined Cologne in 2009 after what could be argued were unsuccessful years at Bayern Munich between 2006 and 2009.

The player had been linked with a move to the Premiership last autumn after he yet again made some very impressive performances at the World cup in South Africa however at the time it was the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United that were heavily linked and not the two North London rivals.

Should Podolski really be considering a move to the Premier League it would certainly be interesting to discover which of the two sides he would be looking to join. Have played without Champions League football for the last two seasons it would seem natural that he may not be fussed whether to be in the competition this year meaning Tottenham Hotspur could be the main side to snap him up, meanwhile Podolski would fit into Wenger’s side with ease, able to play as a striker or winger.
