Arsenal may be looking to loan deals this January however the club are ready to invest heavily during the summer to help bridge the gap between themselves and the dominant Manchester sides.
The North London side are looking for a striker and possible left sided defender in January with many touting former legend Thierry Henry as a possible signing, albeit for just two months. The summer though will see Wenger’s side look to bring three quality players which could cost Arsenal just over £42m.
Lukas Podolski tops their wish list with the club ready to offer Cologne a tempting £15m once the main transfer window opens. They are also keeping a close eye on Fiorentina’s Juan Manuel Vargas. The tricky left footer is coming to the end of his agreement in Serie A and was a rumoured target of Aston Villa last summer. Although at the age of 28 he would not appear the type of age Wenger would try to bring in, his versatility has been mentioned as a key reason for bringing him to North London for little more than a signing on fee. Arsenal do run the risk of leaving it late though with the Italian side looking to cash in on him this January.
Yoann Gourcuff completes the wishlist with the Frenchman having always been a player admired by Arsene Wenger and would cost the club close to £15m.

Wenger should fulfil his promise by bringing in this players by January. Djourou, Squillachi, Almunia, Arshavin should all be shown the exist door
If arsene Wenger spent 42m on players then he would expect an entire squad not just 3 players so don’t think will ever spend that ammount on 3 players
I would like to see Henry, but Podolski as well. Also we must land Gourcuff now…then get gotze or hazard in the summer….what a side we will have.
He may probably wait for the count down before he spends, and everyone will up their price then he tries to scramble for the dregs.
The Professor should try and get quality replacement incase RVP decided to move on because people are always making riduclous offers for top performers just to disintegrate our good built up. We must probe the money miss road that success can be achieve with good plan and man management.
Wenger should sign Karim Benzema or Gonzalo Higuain because Thierry henry wont be the same although I would like to see him back, sign Kaka a former world player of the year that has lost his starting place at Real Madridand would be the perfect replacement for nasi/fabregas. Also a left back is in need on a temporary basis so a loan deal would be the ideal solution.
Thierry Henry is good, but i think arsenal also need Podolski, Gotz and Hazard to build the team
I believe in Vargas, the peruvian player , he is a strong and very technical player, hopefully not just a rumor…..
