Oh to be a fly on the wall In the Norwich City board-room this weekend.
Roman Abramovich and Delia Smith – you would probably struggle to find two more different types of board-room members at a football club.
One likes spending time on million-pound yacht’s exercising his right to a glamorous lifestyle, the other prefers to be in the kitchen, rustling up a Sunday roast for the family somewhere down Let’s be Avenue, with a glass of wine in hand.
Their respective sides also boast different philosophies on the pitch, not too dissimilar from their own lifestyles, in fact.
Chelsea like to shop at the most expensive places and individually are superb but are struggling to find real team-work in their decision making while Norwich aren’t the most fashionable but quietly go about their business to great effect.

The Canaries have been one of this season’s success stories since their promotion from the Championship. The current 5/1 (Bet365) on offer for a home win against one of the super-powers of the Premier League certainly suggests their chances of victory aren’t as ridiculous as many would have predicted at the start of the season.
They have taken 28 points in the league thus far; therefore just four more wins are required to probably secure their Premier League status (12/1 to be relegated with Bet365). They have made Carrow Road somewhat of a fortress, recording wins over Newcastle, Sunderland, QPR and Swansea City.
Their form against the top six sides isn’t great though, taking only one point, a very fortunate 0-0 draw against Liverpool, in the first half of the season.
This certainly will fuel the fire of favourite backers for this clash. Chelsea (8/13 Bet365), despite a rather flat start to life under new boss Andre Villas Boas, have only lost one of their last nine Premier League games and thrashed Norwich 3-1 at Stamford Bridge in September – a repeat of that scoreline is best priced at 12/1 (Bet365).
There have been exactly four goals scored in each of those last five meetings, and when you consider Norwich inability to keep clean sheets at home – a run stretching back 10 league games – the 4-0 away win (25-1 Bet365) may tickle the interest of some value seekers.
On the goal scoring front it seems Frank Lampard’s recent form of scoring in the last three Chelsea games have tempted people in to follow him for one more week. He’s 6/1 (Bet365) to score first and 15/8 to notch anytime.
