Mount Athos is being tipped as the 4/1 favourite and will be looking to put in a better performance than his fifth place at Royal Ascot last time out. He has four wins from his last six races though, so is sure to be in contention here as there is no doubt he has quality.

Caucus is at 13/2 and he has the quality to be involved come to eh closing stages here.

Altano is at 7/1, Brown Panther is at 15/2 and there could then be great value on Colour Vision and Saddler’s Rock, who are at 15/2 and 10/1 respectively. Saddler’s Rock might not be in the best of form, but he did win this encounter last year, so can’t be written off.

The opening race of the day is the Gordon’s Handicap, which is open to horses aged three-year-old and run over a mile and one furlong.

Code Of Honour is the horse many are backing in this one as he is the 4/1 favourite, but the likes of Thair, Red Avenger and Ajmany, who are all being offered at 7/1 to take this one, could be a good bet. It should be a cracking race to start the day.

Then you have the Audi Richmond Stakes, where the impressive Figure Of Speech is the fancied horse as he is at 7/4. If at his best, you would say that Godolphin’s charge would have a bit too much quality for the rest of the field.

Saayerr is at 13/2 and with Ryan Moore on board, he could be good value in this encounter. He also has two wins from three races, so comes into the Richmond Stakes in great shape.

The Blackrock Fillies’ Stakes – which is registered as the Lillie Langtry Stakes – is race number four of the day.

Wild Coco and Elik might just battle it out for this one as they are at 5/4 and 11/4 respectively and the horse that is third in the betting is Souviens Toi, who is at 8/1.

Wild Coco has the knowhow in this race though and you would say he is the one to beat right now.

You then have the E B F British Stallion Studs New Ham Maiden Fillies’ Stakes and there could be some great value in this race as there are 18 runners.

Having an each-way punt on Tender Emotion (17/2) and Jersey Brown (28/1) might be worthwhile in this trip.

The day is then rounded off with the Tatler Handicap and the Qipco Future Stars Apprentice Handicap and they should be two races that finish off the day nicely.

Bring on another enthralling day of action from Glorious Goodwood.
