Inter Milan will be looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit in their second-leg Champions League last 16 tie when they host Marseille on Tuesday evening, as Didier Dechamp’s side look more than  touch of value at 3/1 with Betfred.

Three weeks ago, it was the French side that secured a narrow victory as Inter failed to score what could end up being a crucial away goal. Instead, they must keep it tight at the back and get on the score-sheet at least once in front of their own fans.

The Italian side will be in better spirits for the second-leg though as at the weekend, they secured their first victory since the 22nd January. Inter’s season was falling apart after nine games without a win across all competitions.

However, victory at Chievo on Friday evening put an end to this negative run and they will hope it is the start of a decent run of form, starting with Tuesday’s night’s fixture against Marseille.

As for the French side, they will be determined to keep it tight in this second-leg, perhaps nicking a goal themselves early on. If they manage to do that, they know Inter will have to score at least twice to progress.

Their form since the first-leg victory has been horrific though. They have lost all four games since victory over Inter, failing to score a single goal in this sequence. They will need to improve on Tuesday evening, no doubt about that.

Didier Deschamps’ men were boosted by the return of leading scorer Loic Remy on Friday though and he is expected to start the game on Tuesday evening with the French side hopeful he can help them find their form in front of goal.

As for Inter, there are many suggestions that failure to progress to the last 8 of the Champions League could lead to Claudio Ranieri being sacked as manager, so the pressure is on for the Italian giants.

Overall, this is an well balanced tie and one that can go either way. It gets underway at 7.45pm on Tuesday evening.
