Last season the League One title was won comfortably by Charlton and this year there will be a lot of teams look to emulate that success.

After their play-off heartache last campaign, Sheffield United will be looking to be promoted automatically this year, not leaving anything to chance and they look in good shape to do just that with odds of 6/1 to win the league.

Danny Wilson will see that a number of big clubs have taken a long time to get out of this division and he will be desperate to make a return to the Championship this time out.

The nearly men over recent years, MK Dons are then another big contender, available at 8/1 to win the title, which is sure to attract plenty of interest from punters.

The Dons have fallen at the final hurdle in three of the last four seasons, losing in the play-offs, so this year it really is make or break.

Karl Robinson has brought experience to his squad for the new campaign with Alan Smith joining on loan from Newcastle.

With players like Smith it is difficult to know what to expect from MK Dons – they could challenge for the title or end up in a relegation battle. Either way if they can keep exciting centre back Shaun Williams fit at the back then the Dons should go close this year.

In a league that is sure to be incredibly competitive, momentum and confidence could be a big factor.

Swindon won League two back in May and are being offered at 9/1 to win back to back titles. Paulo Di Canio has certainly impressed at the helm of the club will play an attractive style of football that could put them in contention for top spot.

Last season’s top goalscorer Alan Connell has left the club, which could prove too big a blow.

Coventry are a team that will know this season is huge for them. After being relegated from the Championship it really could go either way for the Sky Blues.

They can be backed at 12/1 to win the league and with the likes of Cody McDonald in their side, who is a natural goal-scorer, they certainly have a chance.

It is all set to be a fantastic battle for the title and it could go all the way this season – it all kicks off this weekend.
