Lexus Chase Leopardstown Live Streaming Schedule : Flemenstar & Sir Des Champs line up

The racing continues from Leopardstown today with the Lexus Chase, with Bet365 releasing the latest odds and a live stream of all the action with Felemenstar & Sir Des Champs battling it out.

One of the feature races over the Christmas period is the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown and this year’s renewal is looking potentially like one of the best for a generation.

Last year’s renewal was subsequent Cheltenham Gold winner, Synchronised, which gives you an idea of the top-class nature of arguably Ireland’s most important chase of the season.

Four of the last 11 winners of the Lexus Chase have gone on to win the Gold Cup and this year winner should catapult them to the top of the Gold Cup ante-post market.

In fact, two of the leading contenders for the major prize in March are set to line up in the Lexus and it’s unsurprising to see they both are at the head of the market.

Flemenstar and Sir Des Champs have already met once this year in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase at Punchestown and that rivalry will be renewed here. Flemenstar came out on top on that occasion and he is being backed to make a winning first try over three miles in the Lexus Chase.

Trainer Peter Casey has been very bullish about the horse’s chances of getting three miles and that is reflected in his strong market price of 7/4 with Paddy Power.

However, although punters do believe the horse should make the step up to three miles with ease, there is a feeling that the increase in distance will bring a big improvement out of Sir Des Champs, who was put in his place last time out by Flemenstar but came out of the race with plenty of praise.

Willie Mullins’ charge didn’t appreciate the style of race the John Durkan turned into as there was no pace from the front as Flemenstar had too many gears for Sir Des Champs in the final four furlongs.

In a race like the Lexus where the pace will be very fast from the off and therefore the emphasis will be more on stamina.

This should suit Sir Des Champs more that speedy Flemenstar and if he jumps somewhere near his best the 100/30 with Paddy Power could look absolutely huge following the race.

We’re very much of the opinion that over a strongly run three miles Sir Des Champs will have far too much staying power for all his rivals in Ireland, including Flemenstar.

Of the other entrants, only Tidal Bay, who is being brought over to Ireland by champion trainer in the UK Paul Nicholls, may be able to challenge the front two. Nicholls’ charismatic star chaser ran a huge race off top weight behind Bobs Worth in the Hennessy Gold Cup and will relish every yard of the Lexus trip.

His 5/1 price with Paddy Power does look a little on the short side though, as he is prone to being very moody and may not be the best traveller.

One thing to keep in mind for the day’s racing is that you can watch all the action from Ireland via Paddy Power’s excellent live streaming service, which can be accessed through mobile, Ipad and on their website.

Reports have shown that over 25% of Paddy Power’s 2.5 million customers in the opening quarter of 2012 placed and watched racing through this function, and that number is growing week-on-week.

The app, of course, free to download and all you need to do is create a Paddy Power account, which is also free of charge, to use the facility.

Access to the streaming couldn’t be easier, and you don’t even need to place a bet to watch your desired race at Leopardstown, all you need to do is download the app and as long as your Paddy Power account is funded, or you have placed a bet on the website within the last 24 hours, you will be able to view all races via the functions, wherever you may be.
