Liverpool considering offer for Dutch maestro

After a winter window full of speculation, Liverpool look set to build on their January interest in the player and will make a summer move for Christian Eriksen.

The Ajax midfielder has been on the radar of Europe’s elite for the past couple of seasons with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan all showing considerable interest in acquiring his signature.

Eriksen has made a huge impact at the Amsterdam Arena since making his professional debut as a 17 year-old in 2010.

The youngster had trials at Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea as a youth before deciding on a move to Ajax.

Eriksen stated that he felt such a big move would not help his development as much as staying in Holland but the time may now be right for a move abroad.

Liverpool spent over £50m on midfielders in the summer of 2011 but it seems as if just 12 months later, the Reds are looking to splurge once again after the likes of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam have failed to fill in as playmaker the way Kenny Dalglish would have wanted.

Eriksen has made 28 starts for de Godenzonen this season, scoring six gaols and making 13 assists in the process.

In total, the 19 year-old has now featured for the Eredivisie outfit more than 90 times despite his young age.

Should the Merseysiders complete a deal to bring Eriksen to Anfield, the transfer would be expected to cost Liverpool around £23m in what could represent a great coup for the club.
