Manchester City v Tottenham Odds : Two of the top sides clash in bid to get closer to league leaders

Manchester City are considered 8/11 favourites to defeat Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium as both sides look for a much needed three points to keep them in touch with the league leaders.

Both Tottenham and Manchester City have shown that they are potential title challengers this season but both sides will know that they ideally need a win to help keep momentum swinging in their favour.

Home side Manchester City have been a bit sloppy on the road this season and that has meant that the 2011-12 champions are currently down in ninth although a win could send them skyrocketing up into fourth.

Pellegrini’s side are still suffering from several injuries sustained from the international break as club captain Vincent Kompany and wingers David Silva and Stevan Jovetic are all still ruled out through injury.

On the plus side, Man City will welcome back a couple of their newer players back into the fold as Matija Nastasic and Fernandinho have recovered from the ailments that plagued them before the international break.

Despite having a solid performance against Germany on Tuesday, Joe Hart still may remain on the bench for City as Romanian keeper Costel Pantillimon looks to assert himself as the number one keeper at Eastlands.

Tottenham will be looking to maintain their push for a Champions League spot and will knock Southampton out of the final spot if they are able to pick up a win in Manchester.

Danish winger Christian Eriksen will be unable to make the trip as he continues to recover from an ankle injury that he sustained before the international break.

His place is likely going to be replaced by Nacer Chadli as the Belgian has fully recovered from the hamstring problems that plagued him in recent weeks.

On top of that, French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is also going to be back in the squad as the international break also allowed him to recover from his fitness problems.

One surprise inclusion in the squad is the return of Emmanuel Adebayor who has been frozen out of the squad since the summer when he actively sought a move away from White Hart Lane. The Togo international could potentially lead the line for Spurs and upset his former club.

With both sides looking evenly matched, the game could end with just one goal between each side but Man City and Tottenham both know that the winner of the clash will have a great opportunity to catch up to the leaders over the next few weeks.
