Manchester United manager surprised at easy win

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted it was a surprise to beat Arsenal on Sunday by such an emphatic scoreline.

The Old Trafford side poured more misery on Arsenal, winning 8-2 with the Gunners picking up yet another red card after youngster Carl Jenkinson received two yellow cards.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, after being asked if the result was a suprise Sir Alex Ferguson replied.

“It is because when you play Arsenal you expect a difficult game, if you look at Arsenal, the team is weakened. But we still did the job. We got careless at times and they made chances because they still have quality up front.”

The United manager added:

“But overall we are very satisfied that we kept the performance levels up.”
