Juventus, who have already been crowned as Serie A champions this season, made history by becoming the third team in history to go an entire season undefeated.

The Bianconeri recorded an emphatic 3-1 home victory over Atalanta on Sunday.

Luca Marrone opened the scoring and Alessandro Del Piero sealed a victory for the Old Lady in the 28th minute.

Juventus opened the scoring after just 10 minutes with an impressive Marrone goal. The striker cracked a wonderful thunderstrike past Giorgio Frezzolini in the Atalanta goal, hitting the post on the way in.

Del Piero hit the back of the net on the half-hour mark, the Juventus talisman received a well-played Emanuele Giaccerin pass before curling a fearsome shot at the back of the net.

The home side dominated for the majority of the game, but the visitors struck back in the 83rd minute thanks to an unlucky Stephan Lichtsteiner own goal.

Juventus regained their two-goal lead in extra time after Fabio Quagliarella was brought down in the area by Thomas Manfredini, Andrea Barzagli stepped up to the penalty spot to convert with ease and seal the home side’s victory.
