QPR in talks with English veteran

Sources have confirmed that after agreeing a fee for the striker, QPR have entered talks with Bobby Zamora and his representatives.

The deal will reportedly cost Mark Hughes’ side £4m and represents a transfer between two bitter West London rivals.

Hughes of course worked extensively with Zamora during his time at Craven Cottage and appeared to like what he saw and is eager to bring the forward to Loftus Road.

The Hoops have just announced the signing of former Lazio, Liverpool and Sunderland striker Djibril Cissé who will partner Zamora up front should the deadline day deal go through.

After Tony Fernandes took over the Premier League outfit in August 2011, the Malaysian businessman went on a small spending spree, bring in a number of late signatures and looks to be eager on repeating that success this window.

However, the deal is reportedly stuck at the moment with Zamora asking for wages of £90,000-a-week, double the amount he was on at Fulham.

Mohamed Al Fayed won’t necessarily be keen on selling the 30 year-old to both city and league rivals, QPR, but when the right money is offered, a sale can be hard to turn down, especially after the cottagers just signed Pavel Pogrebnyak from Stuttgart.
