Swansea Newcastle Odds : Demba Ba and Cisse to shock Swans at Liberty

The weekend’s Premier League football gets underway at the Liberty Stadium when Swansea take on in-form Newcastle on Good Friday, as punters pile into Alan Pardew’s side at a healthy price of 2/1.

There has been a lot of talk that Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers could one day go on to be a ‘top four’ boss which just goes to show the job he has done at the club.

Swansea have hit a bit of a dip in form though, losing their last two and will be looking to make it past the all important 40 point mark with a result on Friday.

They travelled to White Hart Lane on Sunday and gave a good account of themselves but suffered a 3-1 defeat. Rodgers’ side were eventually outclassed by a Tottenham side returning to form.

The Swans have been very hard to beat at home this year, losing just three at The Liberty Stadium in this Premier League campaign.

As for Newcastle, they are one of the form teams in the league at the moment. The Magpies will be looking to make it four wins from four at Swansea on Friday as they look to close the gap on the teams above them.

Pardew’s men sit ten points clear of sixth placed Everton and level with Chelsea in fifth. With the form Newcastle are in they still stand a chance of pinching a Champions League spot, something that is nothing short of exceptional considering they were playing Championship football two years ago.

The two sides played out a 0-0 at the Sports Direct Arena earlier in the season. However with the form of Newcastle forward Papiss Cisse, goals are expected in this encounter. The January signing has seven goals in as many games.

Newcastle will also know that Swansea are capable of scoring goals and with Danny Graham they have the third highest scoring Englishman in the league.

It should be a fascinating encounter at the Liberty Stadium with both teams devoted to playing attacking football. It all gets underway at 4.30pm on Friday.
