Van Gaal frustrated at players

The Manchester United manager was livid with his players who missed chance after chance during the goalless draw with Tottenham yesterday.

Despite dominating at White Hart Lane for most part of their Premier League encounter, Manchester United were unable to register a win over Mauricio Pochettino’s side in a bid to keep their slim hopes of a title assault alive.

And, Van Gaal was frustrated to see his players miss a lot of chances. Indeed the likes of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie had a lot of chances to hand the team all three points but their finishing coupled with a stunning performance in goal by Hugo Lloris ensure that the two sides finished with a point each.

The Dutch tactician says that his team lost two points and added that in the first half of the game, the team delivered its finest performance of the season.

“We gave three possibilities or chances away but we could have also scored from three possibilities – Juan Mata, van Persie and Falcao could have scored. The first half was a fantastic half of ours, but then you have to finish the attacks and we were not so effective today.”

With 19 games left in the season, Van Gaal says that his team would have done with a win over the Spurs.
