Wesley Thomas signs two year deal at Crawley Town

Wesley Thomas chose Crawley ahead of numerous other clubsFormer Cheltenham Town striker Wesley Thomas has chose to turn down a new offer and instead has joined new promoted Crawley Town suggesting that he required to be closer to London.

Crawley Town manager Steve Evans was very happy with his new signing, especially as there was competition from League One for the 24 year old who scored 19 goals in the season just past.

“Young Wes is a natural goalscorer and is a great signing for us, it is always hard to get strikers who score goals and to get one for nothing is an extra bonus. “His movement is good, he is quick and he can score goals so I really do believe he will be great for us. I liked the look of the lad as soon as I first saw him play and it is great he is now part of our squad.”

Evans continued.

“We had to work especially hard to get Wesley here given the interest in him from other decent football clubs but that will all be worth it when he starts scoring goals for us. I really do believe that he is also still developing and that we can make him a better player.”

The Crawley manager added.

“A number of clubs wanted the lad, a couple of them in League One, so I am obviously delighted to get him here.”
