Italian Serie A side AC Milan are readying a bid to try an tempt manager Arsene Wenger into selling his top striker Robin van Persie with an offer believed to be close to £28m.
Milan have been monitoring the Dutch international for some time and are in the market for a goal poacher with van Persie top of their wishlist. Interest was first realised in 2009 however the forward has always been adamant that he will remain a Gunner for life. Whilst a bid is unlikely to tempt either manager or player, it will certainly make the player aware that he is wanted by another big club.
This is the last thing Wenger will need at the moment as he begins to sell Cesc Fabregas although fans will find it comforting that van Persie has pledged his future to the club on more than one occasion, in fact it would be fair to say that if you were to cut van Persie open, it would be red and white with perhaps a tint of orange.
