AC Milan are believed to now be in pole position to snatch two players that have been linked heavily with Chelsea over the last few months.
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has been offered to the Stamford Bridge club but Milan are also interested in his services and are prepared to match the transfer fee so the Argentine can take over from Cassano. The deal is however clouded with mystery as the Spanish giants are only allowing Higuain to depart should they striker a deal with Serie A side Napoli for their striker Edinson Cavani during next summer.
Another Napoli player who had been on the radar of Chelsea’s is Marek Hamsik who has yet again been pulling the strings in midfield for Napoli this season and AC Milan see the 24 year old as the ideal replacement for Pato who has failed to nail down a first team spot throughout this campaign.
Whether Chelsea’s level of interest in Hamsik remains seriousness enough does remain sketchy but they could be prepared to make an offer should the Slovakian be available at the right price. With any moves unlikely in January both Chelsea and AC Milan will not be too concerned on any transfer dealings for the summer as yet but enquiries have been made in the past for Hamsik and one can expect both Chelsea and the Italian giants to fight tooth and nail for at least one of the two next summer.
For the moment though it is is believed that Hamsik would prefer to remain in Italy, albeit with a larger club, whilst Higuain would prefer a move to the Serie A than to England.
