Sources in Spain have reported that Sergio Aguero is travelling to England for talks with Manchester City over a possible transfer.
The Atletico Madrid striker was expected to be signed as a replacement for the presumably departing Carlos Tevez, but manager Roberto Mancini says the club want to sign Aguero regardless of whether Tevez moves on or not.
Atletico’s sporting director, Jose Luis Caminero, and Aguero’s agent, Hernan Reguera, are also travelling with the forward ahead of the big-money move.
Manchester City are reported to have bid £40m for Aguero, with the view of signing the 23 year-old on a five-year contract.
Aguero is currently in native Argentina after the nation had a dismal Copa America tournament, and is expected to travel to England on Wednesday.
