Ajax rebuff Arsenal and Chelsea enquiries for attacking midfielder

Dutch giants Ajax have rebuffed the enquiries of Arsenal and Chelsea for their talented attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen after both London sides queried the availability of the 19 year old.

The young Dane has already appeared for his country Denmark 14 times and is considered hot property by teams across Europe with Arsenal and Chelsea leading the chase. Eriksen has even been compared to the likes of fellow Dane Michael Laudrup who currently manages Spanish outfit Mallorca.

Ajax however are holding all the cards where Eriksen is concerned and realise they could accumulate a lot more money and interest should they keep hold of him. His talents are admired throughout the Netherlands and he was this year named “Dutch Football Talent of the Year 2011”.

Ajax are prepared to rebuff any further advances by Chelsea and Arsenal for their midfield star this summer as they look to build around the youngster for the future with our source claiming:

“For the time being Eriksen is not for sale and both London clubs will need to look elsewhere”.

Whilst any player of Eriksen’s age would dream of a move to either London giants it seems that this summer will not be the right time for him to move on although one feels that a counter move by either club to include some form of a loan-back offer is highly possible.
