The US Open Tennis continues with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray in action live streaming to watch from Flushing Meadows.
Andy Murray takes on the unseeded Matthias Bachinger in the second round of the US Open later this evening in a Thursday packed with high quality tennis.
Murray should dispatch of the German comfortably, with this already Bachinger’s best performance at a US Open.
In the first round Bachinger did produce one of the results of his career as he thrashed the experienced Czech Radek Stepanek in straight sets.
His 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 win was his first at Flushing Meadows in his career, although Bachinger will need to reach a new level on Wednesday.
Murray was far from at his best in his win over Robin Haase, progressing in four sets, following a disastrous third set.
Eventually the Scot progressed 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 7-5 as he looks to win the title he claimed back in 2012.
After his first round win, Murray admitted his body let him down and he will need to perform better if he is to leave a real mark on this years tournament.
Wednesday’s match will be the first time the pair have played each other, despite lengthy careers for the pair.
On the same day Novak Djokovic will face the Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu, after making light work of his first round match.
Djokovic eased past Diego Schwartzman 6-1, 6-2, 6-4, whilst Mathieu needed five sets to beat Gilles Muller.
The third seed Stanislas Warwinka faces Thomaz Bellucci, who surprised Nicholas Mahut in three sets.
Australia’s Nick Kyrgios continued his rapid rise with a win over the 21st seed Mikhail Youzhny and will face Andreas Seppi in the second round.
The only other Britain who played on Monday was Johanna Konta, however she went down in straight sets to Shahar Peer 6-3, 6-2.
Heather Watson competes in the first round on Tuesday, against the unseeded Sorana Cirstea of Romania.
