With the absence of Brazil, it is no surprise that Argentina are currently top the table as they are three points clear of second place.
Argentina entertain Venezuela in this round of fixtures in a match they should be winning comfortably.
The visiting team have been impressive in qualifying though and need a result here to make sure they don’t drop out of the top four, but with the players Argentina have at their disposal, it is going to be a very tough evening for Venezuela.
Lionel Messi will be looking to continue his fine form for Barcelona into the national side and if given a chance, you can be sure he is going to test to goalkeeper. Messi is a 21/10 shot to break the deadlock.
Argentina are looking to go all the way in the World Cup next year and they do look to be heading to the biggest tournament of them all, but they will want to secure qualification as soon as possible and can be backed at 1/7 to win here.
Uruguay are down in fifth place at this stage as they haven’t won in their last four competitive matches, so they need all three points at home to Paraguay – who sit bottom of the table – this time out.
The Uruguayans are level on points with Venezuela however, so as long as they do their job, they should head into the top four. A home win is being offered at 8/13.
Edison Cavani and Luis Suarez are going to have to be on top of their game here as Paraguay did win their previous match, so should be in decent spirits coming into this encounter.
On their day, Uruguay are up there with the best sides around and they can certainly reach the latter stages of the World Cup. Right now though, they have a tough job on their hands to qualify for Brazil 2014.
Colombia have been in excellent form recently as they have won their last three group matches and now sit in third position. While spirits are high, they need to continue to pick up points and they entertain Bolivia this evening.
Bolivia are four points adrift of fifth position, so only a win will do here, but with Colombia looking to finish in the automatic qualifying places, it will be a difficult 90 minutes for the visitors.
The final game to look at sees Chile make the journey to Peru in a battle between two teams outside of the top four at this stage.
We are all set for a thrilling few hours of South American qualifying matches and they look to be worth staying up for.
