Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore is believed to be in favour of a move to Chelsea that French side PSG with sources claiming the interest shown in him from the start has proved flattering.
Chelsea were the first team to make their approach this summer and it is believed that should Pastore agree to join the West London club that all interest in Modric will end – at least for this summer. One issue for Pastore though was his desire to remain in Italy however with none of the Serie A giants having made an official move, the path currently looks clear on the way to London.
Reported have been made of a bid around €45m by both Chelsea and PSG however it is likely to be much less for the 22 year despite Palermo’s chiefs placing such a huge valuation on him. It had also been suggested that owner Roman Abramovich wanted either Pastore or Modric tied up as soon as possible and with Tottenham Hotspur refusing to budge at even an increased bid of £35m, the likelyhood of Chelsea making Pastore target number one are very high indeed.
