Arsenal buoyed by possible early Jack Wilshere recovery

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, could be handed his first bit of good news in some time after learning that Jack Wilshere may be ready to make an early return to play.

The 19 year-old suffered an ankle injury in a pre-season game, and had been thought to be unavailable until November.

However, that now looks to be less likely and the midfielder could be ready to go up against Marseille in a Champions League group game on October 19.

The North London side had to come back from a goal down to turn a victory over Shrewsbury Town in Wednesday’s Carling Cup third round match.

Arsenal currently sit 17th in the Premier League table after Saturday’s 4-3 loss against Blackburn and the youngster will provide some much needed creativity in the Gunners’ midfield.
