Arsenal captain looking for response

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie is looking for a response from the Emirates side when they face their next opponents Swansea City in two weeks time.

Arsenal were undone against an impressive Manchester United side on Sunday although the Gunners were missing eight key personnel. Van Persie however is not hiding from any excuses and insists the side will be looking to respond well in a fortnight’s time.

“We need to come back, we have Swansea in two weeks, which is a good opponent and I look forward to that. This was the strongest team we had today. We gave our maximum but it was clearly not good enough.”

The Arsenal captain added:

“I don’t think we can hide behind injuries or suspensions. It is no excuse. They had injuries too, this is football.”
