This was not case though, as Arsenal found themselves 2-0 down after eight minutes and it proved to be too bigger task as they eventually lost the game 2-1.
Before this, Wenger’s side had been in fantastic from in the league, winning nine from ten matches. This run of victories coincided with Spurs poor run of form and saw the two sides switch positions in the league.
This is the Gunners final game against a side currently in the top ten so finishing in the top three is something everyone at the club will be confident of.
However, Wenger will not be taking anything for granted and will know playing teams at the bottom is far from easy at this stage of the season.
Chelsea are a team oozing confidence and self belief at the moment, after a stunning 5-1 win over Spurs in the FA Cup semi-final at the weekend.
