Arsenal eyeing Blues’ defensive talisman

Arsenal chief scout, Steve Rowley, is set to travel to Pride Park this Saturday to watch Birmingham defender, Scott Dann, in action, as the North London club prepare a bid.

The Gunners have been linked with moves for the likes of Gary Cahill, Christopher Samba and Phil Jagielka this summer, however the Premier League pedigree is proving too costly for the notoriously small spenders.

Dann impressed for the Blues last season and has attracted the interest of several top flight clubs including Chelsea and Liverpool, but Arsenal have now entered the race as they look to resolve some defensive frailties.

Stoke City have already seen a bid for Dann rejected earlier o this summer, thought to be worth £10m. Arsenal are expected to make a similar offer.
