Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has insisted that Wenger is the right man for the job at the Emirates and that all the players are behind the 61 year old.
Wenger has seen his Gunners once again end up trophyless for another year despite the North London side still in with a small chance of winning the title this season, and many fans are calling for the former Monaco manager to call it a day.
However, Szczesny claims Wenger is the manager to take the team to the top and that fans must remain patient.
“It’s ridiculous. If you ask any of the players, we will all stand by the manager, he built this team from nothing and he’s the best manager in the world, so I don’t understand why anyone would want him to leave.”
The Arsenal keeper continued.
“We all take individual responsibilities for our mistakes and everyone has played their part in this season’s disappointments. I think we just have to take it as a team. You can’t blame the boss because he stood by the team all season and supported us.”
Szczesny added.
“We have a young team and have a lot of years in front of us, and a lot of trophies to win. Let’s be patient and show next year we are good enough to win the league.”
Arsenal can still win the title but will require both Manchester United and Chelsea to make huge slip ups over the next three matches.
