Arsenal international excited to link up with former manager

Arsenal and Danish international, Nicklas Bendtner, has revealed that the opportunity to reunite with Steve Bruce at Sunderland was too good to pass up.

The forward completed a deadline day season-long loan to the Stadium of Light after falling out of favour at the Emirates Stadium.

Bendtner worked with Bruce while he enjoyed a loan spell at Birmingham City in the 2006-07 season.

The 23 year-old is looking forward to playing with the Black Cats, stating: “This is a good opportunity. It’s a chance to get my career back on track.”

The Dane also admired the playing style that Bruce employs within his squad, adding: “He plays an attacking style and likes to get the ball forward, which is something I value and is how I like to see the game played.”
