Arsenal keen on summer approach for Serie A superstar
With the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Juventus already registering interest in signing the star, Arsenal face a tough task in luring Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli.
However, the North London side are being linked with a move for the winger nonetheless and could seek to complete a summer deal for the star.
Lavezzi drew grand plaudits on Tuesday following his dazzling performance in the 3-1 victory over Chelsea, in which he netted a brace.
The Gunners have been associated with purchasing numerous wide talents amidst the news that Theo Walcott might complete a move away from the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.
Lavezzi has made a name for himself playing with the Naples outfit over the past ** seasons, forming a powerful combination with teammates Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani, adequately labelled ‘The Holy Trinity’ by Napoli fans.
The 26 year-old has made 28 appearances for the Serie A side this season, scoring seven goals and making nine assists in the process.
Arsenal are also said to be raising interest in German hitman Lukas Podolski after claims that he is unhappy with broken promises at current side Cologne.
Arsene Wenger won’t be expected to complete a deal for both players given his side’s recent transfer activity but reports have emerged that the North London club are set to receive increased transfer funds this summer.
If Lavezzi were to complete a move to the Premier League, his signature would be expected to cost around £20m as Arsenal seek to reassert themselves as Champions League regulars.
