Arsenal’s second string goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has admitted to holding talks with current 62 year old manager Arsene Wenger over his future and admits there will be more discussions over the coming weeks.
Fabianski has slipped down the pecking order at Arsenal and with Sczeszny practically cementing the number one spot with some impressive performances at such a young age. There had been talk over the last summer transfer window that Fabianski would be sold on however nothing materialised leaving the Poland international a frustrated figure on the sidelines.
With the European Championships coming up in 2012 in Poland and the Ukraine, the Arsenal keeper is wanting to get as many minutes on the pitch as possible to get a chance of making the international team.
“I had a chat with the boss a few days ago and it was quite an intensive one. It was me who asked to speak although we will have a few more chats. I want my situation to be resolved in the nearest future because I want to play at Euro 2012.”
The Arsenal stopper added:
“I hope Wenger will understand me and we find a solution. I want to play for Arsenal but if not, I will have to go somewhere else, even if it is on loan.”
Should Wenger continue to leave Fabianski out of the starting eleven – which appears likely – then a loan move after Christmas will certainly become a formailty for the 26 year old.
