Sources from North Germany are claiming that Arsenal are paying close attention to the Wolfsburg midfielder Diego.
The 26 year old has previously played for Juventus and Werder Bremen although it has been suggested that he is likely to stay with Wolfsburg should they be relegated this season as his wages are worth almost €6m over two years.
It has not been the best of years for the Brazilian with his club even fining him €100,000 due to poor behaviour under Steve McClaren during a game against local rivals Hannover 96 earlier in the year. (He took the ball off the designated penalty taker and subsequently missed.)With relegation looking almost like a formality for the Bundesliga outfit Arsenal may see this as a good opportunity to sign a player, who quite frankly under Wenger’s guidance, will make a difference to the team next season.
With Arsenal not famous for spending money a fee of around £6m should be enough to tempt the Brazilian to the Emirates although other teams are also keeping an eye on the situation with Bayern Munich also keen on the creative playmaker.
