Arsenal look set to lose out on apparent French target
Arsenal are preparing themselves to find a new partner to join van Persie up front after the agent their apparent target, Karim Benzema, quoted that the 23 year old would not be leaving Real Madrid this summer.
Speculation had suggested that Arsenal we preparing a £20m bid to prize the Frenchman away from the Bernabeu but his agent, Karim Djaziri, has claimed that the striker has not asked him to discuss a move elsewhere.
“At no stage has Karim Benzema thought about leaving Madrid, he has not asked me to negotiate with any club.”
Djaziri continued.
“The reports are false. Karim only wants to continue with Real Madrid and is confirming that with his recent good performances.”
Whilst this may the case at this stage Arsenal may be a favoured location for Benzema and although no move has been discussed yet, a week in a football transfer market can change many minds.
