Arsenal looking to recruit defence coach?
Sources have revealed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to recruit a defence coach to help plug the holes that the current defenders are leaving open at the club.
Wenger has always disapproved of hiring an expert in defence, preferring to go with his philosophy of attack being the best form of defence however numerous rumour websites and forums are claiming that Steve Bould might be brought up from the youth side to help the current defenders organise themselves better – one website even suggests that Martin Keown could be brought on board.
Whilst it is something that fans have been calling for for sometime, a new coach in that area would surely not be a quick solution to an issue that was quite visible at the end of last year’s campaign and any hiring, if true, would need to be planned on a long term basis.
Bringing in former defenders of the club might shine some light on poor defensive displays but whether it is the answer remains to be seen.
