Reports suggest that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, could be gunning for Chelsea wideman, Florent Malouda.
Wenger is desperate to strengthen his thin squad after suffering an 8-2 battering at Old Trafford on Sunday, and is looking to players with top-flight experience.
The 31 year-old was the sole goalscorer in France’s 2010 World Cup campaign, netting against host nation South Africa, in a 2-1 defeat.
The Gunners are expected to offer around £8m for the midfielder, and Andre Villas-Boas may be tempted to sell, given the player’s age and the arrival of Juan Mata.
Blues £10m-rated centre-back, Alex, is also attracting the attention of the Gunners, however they are only willing to offer £7m for the Brazilian.
