Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out the possibility of the club making any signings in January claiming the squad is already big enough.
A frantic last day of the summer transfer window saw Arsenal conduct most of their business which saw the likes of Arteta join from Everton. It has however been believed that Arsenal would make at least one or two signings to add some more quality to the squad and Wenger’s side have been linked – as usual – with a host of stars.
Wenger though it appears is content with the current squad of players and admits that whilst Borussia Dortmund forward Mario Gotze is a very good player, they not looking to buy any new players.
“At the moment in the transfer window we are just interested in keeping our squad, we have a big squad and we are not after anybody. Goetze is a very good player, I can understand there is a lot of interest in him around Europe. On our side though, I do not think this is the best time to talk about it.”
Arsenal do indeed have a large squad and recent weeks have shown that the North London side do have the tools to push on into the top four, the Premiership title though, is a different subject altogether.
