Arsenal manager tells fans to expect more from striker

Park Chu Young will now feature for Arsenal much more according to Arsene WengerArsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told fans that they can expect to see much more of the club’s summer signing Ju Young Park after he scored in the Emirates side’s recent Carling Cup win over Bolton Wanderers.

Park arrived at the North London club at the end of August from Monaco for an undisclosed fee and many were asking the question as to when he would feature for the side. Wenger though suggests that the player required time to settle in London but that his quality in training will now show on the pitch as he begins to get more game time.

Talking to the official Arsenal website, Wenger said:

“Park arrived on August 31 and now we are at the end of October, that’s two months, Thierry Henry started to play in November and arrived earlier, so it takes some time to settle. Park is a quality player, we see that in training, and he is a very intelligent player. That can come out in the game. Overall I believe you will see more and more of Park.”

Whilst the goal will have done the player the World of good, fans had expected to see Park line up alongside Robin van Persie this season with Chamahk not doing as well as hoped however with just the one appearance and one goal it is likely that the 26 year old will feature more, with Wenger claiming he is ready to play for Arsenal.

“He personally needed that goal of course but I believe when new players arrive at a club you need that to convince people you deserve to be where you are.”

The Arsenal manager added:

“Many people think that unless you are coming with a massive transfer fee (you cannot succeed easily). If he had come with a big transfer fee everybody would have been full of what he achieved. He is showing that he is at the level to play for Arsenal Football Club and certainly the goal will help him to gain confidence.”
