Sources suggest that Samir Nasri’s sale to Manchester City could be completed within the next 24 hours.
The midfielder was a target for Manchester United, however City quickly stepped in and took a stranglehold on the transfer, and are now on the verge of a deal.
The move is said to be worth about £25m, and would would be Arsenal’s second big name departure of the week, after former captain, Cesc Fabregas, left for Barcelona on Monday.
The 24 year-old Frenchman has only a year left to run on his current contract and it’s thought that Arsenal would see it as bad business if they were to let Nasri leave on a free transfer next summer.
The Gunners’ attempt at holding on to Nasri failed miserably, when their new £90,000-a-week contract was dwarfed by City’s £165,000-a-week offer.
