Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that his squad is in need of improvement and confirmed that he is looking to sign three players before the end of the transfer window.
Wenger has already recruited four players this season; however he has revealed that he is in the hunt for players to fill the void left by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
The Gunners’ boss has also looked further forward to January where Arsenal will lose players to the African Cup of Nations. Arsenal are set to lose Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh as well as new boy Gervinho at the same time due to the tournament, which has led to Wenger adding a striker to his shopping list.
“It is important because we will lose players in January with players going to the African Nations Cup,” said Wenger.
“We lose Gervinho and Chamakh together so, first of all, it is important to strengthen up front. It is important that we find one midfielder and one defender as well. So we are still short of three bodies.
“My time has been taken up and it was a very difficult summer on that front because we had to face adversity, negativity, but it had to be done. Overall, we tried to do as well as we could.”
