Arsenal Number One believes every game can be won

Szczesny feels Mertesacker is getting better and betterArsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has suggested that there is such belief within the current Emirates squad that the feeling is that the club can win every game that is left on the fixture list.

Arsenal have turned things right around over the last month winning their last four Premier League matches on the bounce taking the side up to seventh after earning just one point in three at the start of the season. Results included the 8-2 mauling at Manchester United, a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at the Emirates stadium and the opening day draw against Newcastle United.

Wojciech Szczesny however believes that things have changed over the last month with he and his team mates all of the belief that they can go on to win against every opponent they come up against.

“The mood has turned around. There’s a belief we can win every single game, we just have to be focused, I seriously believe in this club and if we keep playing every single game like we have been recently, why not? We’ve got a few good results but we still have a point to prove and I think you have to judge us over the course of the season.”

Arsenal’s number one also had praise for new defensive signing Per Mertesacker, who, after a tricky few weeks at the start of the season, has began to show why he has so many caps for Germany.

“I think Per’s been very good recently. You don’t pay £10million for a centre back with 70-odd caps who is not good, everyone needs time to adapt to English football, he’s an experienced player and he keeps getting better and better.”

The Arsenal keeper added:

“I’m sure he’ll be very good for Arsenal for a long time. But for me it doesn’t matter if my defence are older than me or more experienced than me – it makes no difference. My job is to get them organised and their job is to listen to me. I’m very comfortable with that.”
