Who is Mikel Arteta?

Mikel Arteta is a retired Spanish professional football player and current manager of Arsenal Football Club in the English Premier League. He was born on March 26, 1982, in San Sebastian, Spain.

Arteta started his professional playing career with Barcelona B in 1999 but made his first-team debut for Paris Saint-Germain in 2000. He then moved to Rangers in Scotland before signing for Everton in the English Premier League in 2005.

Arteta established himself as a key player for Everton, and he played for the club until 2011.

In August 2011, Arteta joined Arsenal for a reported fee of £10 million. He played for Arsenal for five seasons, winning two FA Cups and playing an important role in the team’s midfield.

Arteta retired from playing in 2016, and after a brief spell as an assistant coach at Manchester City, he was appointed as Arsenal’s manager in December 2019.

As Arsenal’s manager, Arteta has had a mixed record, but he has already won two trophies, the FA Cup and the Community Shield, in his first season in charge.

He is known for his tactical acumen and his ability to develop young players, and he is widely regarded as one of the most promising young managers in European football.
