Sources from North London have suggested that Arsenal are in the best position to land West Ham United’s Scott Parker and that a bid shall be forthcoming from the Emirate’s side by the end of the month.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce had confirmed on Wednesday that no one had yet made a bid for the England international but Arsenal see Parker as a sturdy midfielder who will compliment the likes of Wilshire and Fabregas during the next campaign.
Meanwhile Tottenham’s interest in the 30 year old has lessened with their main priority being that of a striker this summer and will leave Parker as they look for players in the midfield area a little younger. Arsenal will want to move fast to seal the Parker deal as QPR are also rumoured to be interested in his services and at £5m, Wenger does not wish to hang around for another team to snap him up.
The news corresponds well with our report a few weeks ago that Arsenal were going to make Parker their primary midfield target and will add the likes of Gervinho and Samba within the same timeframe.
