Sources in London have claimed that Emirates side Arsenal are preparing an offer to take West Ham United’s Scott Parker to the red side of North London after it was revealed a while ago that Tottenham Hotspur were favourites to land the 30 year old.
A move to another London club is expected with Scott Parker unlikely to move away from the capital where his family are and although the option to join Spurs will be tempting, the England international will prefer a stint in the Champions League next season.
With many Arsenal fans calling for Wenger to purchase some experience, Parker would certainly fit the bill and would allow the Gunners current, more attack minded midfielders much more freedom. Transfer fees of around £7m have been quoted recently and our source has suggested that Arsenal could pip Tottenham at the final hurdle.
Should Parker decide on a move to Arsenal it will mean that Wenger has finally decided to invest in more experience rather than youthful potential and with the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool FC looking to break into the Champions League next season, it would be wise to do so.
