Arsenal put off by asking price for tough midfielder

Arsenal have been put off QPR’s Adel Taarabt because of such a high asking price for the Morocco international with a fee of around £10.5m being requested by the West London rivals.

Taarabt had made headlines last season in the Championship and at just 22 years old has been highlighted as a potential Premiership star. His performances were of a good standard and the player himself has admitted that Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping an eye on his situation at the moment.

Chelsea remain unkeen and will look to a host of off shore talent to boost their ageing midfield whilst Arsenal feel that the former Tottenham Hotspur player is not worthy of such a high fee being placed on him by the QPR hierarchy and will not pay over the odds for relatively untested talent at Premiership level.

Arsenal are looking to add to their midfield, possibly quite heavily should Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas leave North London, but they are not keen on investing large amounts of money on untested potential and will look to add players with more experience this summer rather than submit to the demands of teams looking to cash in on the back of one impressive season.
