Arsenal’s victory against Udinese on Wednesday evening not only provided the side with a ticket for today’s Champions League draw but also provides the platform for Wenger to bring in two of his main targets in Eden Hazard and Yann M’Vila.
Whilst a deal in principle had been agreed with Lille for Hazard, Wenger will not try to push the deal forward to land the youngster in a move worth £23m and also contact Rennes regarding defensive midfielder M’Vila who would be available at £12m-£15m.
Whilst it is late in the transfer window, the remaining six days are mostly the busiest and although this is untested territory for Wenger, the 61 year old manager and the Arsenal board will look to make their final adjustments quickly.
A question mark still lingers over a centre-back position whom many believe the side definitely require with Everton still holding out for a much higher fee than the Emirates side are prepared to pay, a striker is also on the list with Lazio’s Mauro Zarate close to completing a switch to the Premiership too.
