With the bitter rivalry these two have, and the fact that they are very similar in terms of league position and ability right now – it should be a cracker.
Spurs have an excellent recent record in this one, having suffered only one defeat in their last five North London derbies, so their price of 3/1 to take all the points back to White Hart Lane could see plenty of attention from punters.
Moving into the 3PM games, Manchester City host Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium and it is the home side that are predictably the big favourites at 2/9.
Villa need the points to move away from the bottom three, but know this is one of the toughest games they will play this season. Paul Lambert’s side have shown glimpses that they are on the road to recovery – going 2-0 up last week against Manchester Utd – and the Scot will be looking for a similar performance.
With some resemblance of a threatening attacking line, the resurgence of Gabby Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann, toegether and the brilliance of Christian Benteke (who angered some fans this week with his ‘love of Arsenal’) they could offer some appeal at a massive price of 14/1.
Also, Chelsea make a very tough trip to West Bromwich Albion, who have lost just once at home in the league so far. The Blues need a win after taking just two points from their last three games as Roberto Di Matteo’s side look to keep in touching distance at the top. Ex Blues man Steve Clarke is in charge at the Hawthorns and he will be desperate for a result against his former employers.
With James Morrison and Romelu Lukaku in fine form for the Baggies, and Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar looking a little short at the moment, their price of 3/1 for the home win looks a definite punt.
Reading also take on Everton at the Madjeski Stadium in what is another encounter between two teams needing the points for very different reasons, whilst Liverpool are at home to Wigan Athletic.
There is also a real crunch match at the bottom of the league as Queens Park Rangers and Southampton lock horns. These two currently sit in the bottom three – making this a six-pointer at the foot of the table.
Newcastle United and Swansea City go head to head at St James’ Park in what should be a superb 90 minutes between two sides that love to play attacking football. They currently sit in tenth and eleventh respectively, so the Swans can overhaul their opponents with a win.
Michael Laudrup will be without defender Chico Flores and Michel Vorm between the sticks, but with Gary Monk coming in at the back, the Swans side are a difficult side to beat at the moment. A disappointing home defeat by West Ham last time out has left Alan Pardew scratching his head as the draw looks the bet at 5/2.
There is then one evening kick-off on Saturday and it sees Norwich City host Manchester United at Carrow Road. United will be coming to Norfolk with three points on their mind and nothing else, but know Norwich are in good form after remaining unbeaten in their last four.
Javier Hernandez is pushing for a starting role following his brace against Aston Villa last week, but Alex Ferguson is likely to keep the Mexican waiting in the wings.
Chris Hughton is starting to put things together at Carrow Road, but with the Red Devils in formidable mood, the away win at 4/9 is attracting all the attention.
It should be another fantastic day of action in the Premier League
